Right now, your store has SEO issues suppressing your rankings that you’ve never seen — and your competitors may already know what they are. A free audit takes 30 minutes and shows you every issue ranked by revenue impact before you spend another dollar on SEO.

You Can’t Fix What You
Don’t Know Is Broken.

Most Shopify store owners are investing in SEO — writing blog posts, adding keywords, installing apps — but their rankings aren’t moving. Not because the work isn’t being done. Because the foundational issues that suppress rankings are still there, untouched, silently capping everything else.

A canonical tag error. A collection page with no content. Core Web Vitals failing. Internal links pointing to the wrong pages. Schema markup missing from every product. These issues don’t announce themselves. They just quietly prevent your store from ranking — and no amount of new content fixes them.

The average Shopify store we audit has 23 active SEO issues — and the store owner has seen maybe 2 or 3 of them. The others are invisible without the right tools and the expertise to know where to look. That’s what an audit is: a complete map of everything holding your store back, sequenced by what to fix first for the biggest ranking gains.

What’s Covered

Every Area of Your Shopify Store
Audited in Full

Not a surface-level checklist. A deep technical review across every dimension that affects how Google finds, crawls, understands, and ranks your store.

⚙️

Technical SEO Audit

The foundation — every crawlability, indexation, and speed issue found and documented.

  • Full site crawl — every page crawled, every technical issue found and categorized by severity and revenue impact
  • Canonical tag audit — Shopify’s duplicate URL problem identified and the exact fix documented for your theme
  • Robots.txt and sitemap — configuration verified against GSC crawl data, errors flagged with specific corrections

  • 301 redirect audit — chains, loops, and broken redirects identified with the clean redirect map needed
  • Core Web Vitals — LCP, CLS, and INP scored with specific causes of each failure identified per page type
  • Mobile usability — mobile rendering issues identified across collection pages, product pages, and checkout flow
📄

On-Page SEO Audit

Every on-page element reviewed across your most commercially important pages.

  • Title tag audit — every priority page title reviewed for length, keyword inclusion, click-through optimization, and duplication
  • Meta description audit — missing, duplicate, and poorly written meta descriptions identified across all key pages

  • Image optimization — missing alt text, oversized images, and unoptimized filenames documented across the store
  • URL structure review — non-descriptive, keyword-absent, or problematic URLs flagged with recommended alternatives
🏗️

Schema Markup Audit

Every missing structured data implementation found — star ratings, rich results, AI visibility all depend on this.

  • Product schema audit — price, availability, brand, GTIN, and aggregate rating attributes reviewed for every product page
  • Organization schema — brand identity, contact information, and social profile markup reviewed and missing fields documented
  • BreadcrumbList schema — navigation hierarchy markup reviewed for correct implementation across collection and product pages
  • FAQ schema — existing FAQ schema validated and missing FAQ opportunities on collection pages identified

  • GSC rich results report — all schema errors in Google Search Console’s Rich Results Test reviewed and documented
  • AI search schema readiness — structured data reviewed for eligibility in ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity recommendations
🔗

Internal Linking Audit

How authority flows through your store — and where it’s leaking.

  • Full internal link map — every internal link on the site crawled and mapped to show authority flow across all pages
  • Orphaned pages — pages with zero internal links identified (pages Google can find but has no reason to rank)
  • Authority gap analysis — highest-value collection and product pages with insufficient internal links flagged
  • Anchor text audit — generic anchor text (“click here,” “shop now”) identified where keyword-rich alternatives should be used
  • Blog-to-collection linking gaps — blog posts missing links to their most relevant commercial pages identified
  • Cross-collection linking opportunities — related collections that should link to each other but don’t
  • Link depth analysis — important pages buried too deep in the site structure flagged with recommended fixes

  • Collection page keyword audit — every collection page mapped to its target keyword with current ranking and gap identified
  • Top 3 competitor keyword analysis — all commercial keywords your main competitors rank for that your store doesn’t
  • Featured snippet opportunities — keywords where you rank on page 1 but could earn position 0 with content improvements
  • People Also Ask coverage — FAQ and content gaps identified for PAA box ownership in your niche
  • Quick-win keyword identification — keywords where you rank positions 5–15 that could reach position 1–3 with targeted fixes
🏆

Competitor Analysis

  • Top 3 competitors identified — the stores actually ranking for your highest-value commercial keywords
  • Competitor collection page analysis — content depth, keyword usage, and schema implementation compared to yours

What We Consistently Find

The SEO Issues Hiding in Almost Every Shopify Store

These aren’t rare edge cases. These are the issues we find in the vast majority of Shopify stores we audit — most of which are suppressing rankings every single day they go unfixed.

🔀

Duplicate URL Structure

Shopify creates two URLs for every product — /products/ and /collections/name/products/. Google splits ranking authority between them. Neither ranks properly.

🔴 High Impact
📦

Blank Collection Pages

Collection pages with no content targeting commercial keywords — the single highest-ROI SEO fix on any Shopify store, and almost every store skips it.

🔴 High Impact

Failing Core Web Vitals

Heavy apps, unoptimized images, and bloated JavaScript causing LCP, CLS, and INP failures — Google actively penalizes these in rankings every day.

🔴 High Impact
🏗️

Missing Schema Markup

No Product schema means no star ratings in search results. No FAQ schema means no rich results. Your listings look empty next to competitors who have it.

🔴 High Impact
🗺️

Poor Internal Linking

Ranking authority not flowing to your highest-value commercial pages. Orphaned pages that Google can find but has no reason to rank. Blog posts linked to nothing.

🟡 Medium Impact
📝

Weak Title Tags & Meta Descriptions

Auto-generated or duplicate titles missing keywords. Meta descriptions that don’t drive clicks. Pages competing for the same keyword with no mapping strategy.

🟡 Medium Impact
🤖

Invisible to AI Search

No structured data or content setup for ChatGPT, Gemini, or Perplexity recommendations. Missing a growing channel where product discovery now happens.

🟡 Medium Impact
🌍

International SEO Errors

Wrong or missing hreflang tags causing market pages to compete against each other — splitting authority instead of building it per country.

🔴 High Impact
🔍

Keyword Cannibalization

Multiple pages targeting the same keyword — splitting signals between them so Google doesn’t rank either one with confidence. More common than most owners realize.

🟡 Medium Impact

After the Audit

What Happens When You Fix What the Audit Finds

The audit is the map. These are the results stores typically see when they follow it.

60d
First Ranking Improvements

Technical fixes and collection page changes consistently move rankings within 60 days — significantly faster than starting from scratch without an audit.

3x
Average Traffic Growth in 6 Months

Stores that implement the full audit roadmap — technical, on-page, and content — average 3x organic traffic growth within 6 months of starting.

↓40%
Reduced Paid Ad Dependency

As organic traffic grows from audit fixes, blended CAC drops. The paid budget that was keeping you afloat becomes capital you can use to scale.

$0
Cost Per Click on Ranked Pages

Every visitor from a ranked organic page costs nothing — compared to $1–$4 per click on Google Ads for the same keywords, every month, indefinitely.

What Store Owners Say After Their Audit

The most common reaction after a full audit walkthrough — and why it matters for your store.

  • “I had no idea Shopify was creating duplicate URLs for every single product — and that it was the reason my rankings were stuck”
  • “The canonical tag fix alone moved three of my collection pages into the top 5 within 6 weeks”
  • “Finding out my competitors had Product schema and I didn’t explained exactly why their listings had star ratings and mine didn’t”
  • “The 90-day roadmap made the whole thing actionable — I knew exactly what to do first instead of guessing”
  • “The walkthrough call was the most valuable 45 minutes I’ve spent on my store’s SEO — everything finally made sense”
  • “We implemented the quick-win fixes in week one and saw ranking movement before the month was out”
Who It’s For

An SEO Audit Is Right for Your Store If…

If any of these describe your situation, your store has active SEO issues costing you rankings and revenue right now.

📉

Rankings Are Flat or Dropping

You’re putting work into SEO but rankings aren’t moving — or they’re declining. Almost always a foundational technical issue that new content can’t fix.

💸

High Ad Spend, Wanting Organic

You’re spending $2,000+/month on Google or Meta Ads and want organic traffic to start carrying more of the load. An audit shows you exactly what’s blocking it.

🆕

Starting SEO for the First Time

You’ve never had an SEO audit and don’t know where your store stands. The audit gives you a complete baseline — you’ll know exactly what you’re working with.

🔄

Just Redesigned or Migrated

A new theme, a store redesign, or a platform migration can introduce 10–20 new SEO issues invisibly. An audit catches everything before damage compounds.

🔍

Before Hiring an SEO Agency

An independent audit before engaging an SEO agency tells you exactly what needs fixing — so you can evaluate proposals, hold agencies accountable, and avoid being oversold.

📊

Want to Beat Specific Competitors

You know which stores are ranking above you and want to understand exactly why. The competitor analysis section of the audit answers that question specifically.

FAQ

SEO Audit Questions,
Answered Honestly

What’s the difference between a free and paid audit? +
The free audit is a 30-minute live review covering the top 5 critical issues, collection page gaps, and quick-win keywords — enough to show you what’s wrong and prioritize where to start. The paid audit ($497) is a full 7-day deep-dive across all six areas: technical SEO, on-page, schema, internal linking, keyword gap analysis, and competitor comparison — delivered as a complete report with a revenue-prioritized 90-day roadmap and a 45-minute recorded walkthrough call. If you’re serious about SEO and want the full picture, the paid audit pays for itself with the first ranking improvement it enables.
How long does the full audit take to deliver? +
7 working days from when you share store access. Days 1–5 cover the full crawl and all six audit areas. Days 6–7 are for building the report, prioritizing findings by revenue impact, and constructing the 90-day roadmap. The walkthrough call is then scheduled at a time that works for you — typically within 2–3 days of report delivery.
Do I need to give you full admin access to my store? +
No. For the audit we only need view-only access to Google Search Console — not your Shopify admin, not your payment information, nothing sensitive. GSC view access lets us see your ranking data, crawl errors, indexation status, and Core Web Vitals reports. The site crawl is run independently using our own tools. If you choose to have us implement the fixes after the audit, we’d then need appropriate Shopify theme access — but that’s entirely optional and a separate conversation.
Will the audit tell me what to fix myself, or do I need to hire you? +
Both options work. The full audit report and 90-day roadmap are written so that any competent developer or in-house team can implement the fixes independently — we explain every issue in plain language with the exact fix required. Many clients take the audit and implement it themselves or with their existing team. Others prefer to have us implement it. Either way, there’s no pressure — the audit stands alone as a complete, actionable document regardless of what you do next.
How quickly will I see results after implementing the audit fixes? +
Technical fixes — canonical tags, Core Web Vitals, redirect chains — typically show ranking movements within 4–8 weeks as Google recrawls and re-evaluates corrected pages. Collection page content additions usually show ranking improvements within 6–10 weeks. The quickest wins are pages currently ranking positions 5–15 that just need the right fixes to break into positions 1–3. We identify these specifically in the keyword gap section of the audit.
Is there any ongoing commitment after the audit? +
None. The audit is a one-time service with no obligation to continue. You receive the report, the roadmap, and the walkthrough call — that’s the complete deliverable. If you want ongoing SEO management after the audit, we can discuss that separately. If you want to implement the roadmap independently, we fully support that too. The entire point of the audit is to give you a complete, honest picture of your store’s SEO — what you do with that picture is entirely your decision.
